Year in review

Well, it's been a pretty good year. I had a baby in February, but I managed to keep producing work (albeit to a limited extent). As Ellen Fisher, I've had four new releases this year and three paperback releases, and I already have contracts for two more books in 2006. I not only met the goal I had set for royalty earnings (which was admittedly very modest), I doubled it. I also finalled for three Eppies and was nominated for an RT Reviewers Choice Award. Overall, not a bad year!

I do have a couple of unmet milestones I'd hoped to hit by now-- specifically, getting an agent and selling to a New York publisher. But you can't control things like that; you can only keep on writing and submitting and doing your best. Which is exactly what I intend to keep doing. In 2006, I'd like to land an agent and keep submitting to New York, but I also intend to focus on writing paranormals and futuristics and building my readership. Plus I want to turn out more pages per month, which is a quite feasible goal now that the baby's almost a year old.

I hope 2006 is a great year for all of you! Happy New Year!

  2. You never cease to amaze me. It took me a year to recover from giving birth. I did not take on any major projects.

    I'd make you a five-star general if I could. :^)
