I took the boys to their grandparents house this weekend for a birthday party, for the baby and his cousin (who's four, and whose birthday is also in February). DH and the girls, meanwhile, went skiing. They're not back yet, but I hear DH fell onto his ski pole, nose-first. His nose doesn't seem to be broken, but it sounds like a painful experience. This is why I don't ski.
I came back to an email from my first choice agent, who is interested in representing me!!! She wants me to expand and revise my partial a bit before she takes me on, so I emailed her and told me it'd take a couple of weeks (I do need to finish up the edits on The Shadows of Night first, before my lovely and patient editor comes after me with a sledgehammer). This doesn't mean that I'm guaranteed representation, of course, just that she's giving me the chance to impress her with my revisions. I can't ask for more than that. Besides, she likes my writing! I'm so thrilled!
And finally, I got a nice review of Christmas Carol from Fallen Angel Reviews. Tammy gave it five angels and wrote, "...a delightful treat! This wonderful tale flows along smoothly and has everything you could want in a great story. Jackson and Carol are great characters that are well defined and completely engaging. I enjoyed watching Jackson and Carol come together and learn to trust in one another while learning to love again. Christmas Carol is a heartwarming tale that you will not want to miss!"
I'm starting to think I should leave town more often:-).
