Kids

While putting a ponytail into Oldest Kid's hair this morning, I suddenly realized she's grown a whole lot. The top of her head reaches my nose. That means she must be about five foot three (three inches shorter than yours truly), which means she's recently grown three inches. All of sudden she looks very tall. And the scary thing is she's only ten and a half. Having married a really tall guy (six foot six and the shortest of three brothers), I knew I'd be looking up at my kids someday... but evidently someday isn't too far away now. Sob.

Last night DH said to the baby, "Look, this is a ball. Can you say ball?" The baby proudly repeated, "Bah!"... ten thousand times. At least that's what it seemed like. Look out, folks. He has a new word-- and he's not afraid to use it.

In writing news, I'm hoping to wrap up edits for The Shadows of Night today or tomorrow. I really need to get that finished!

  1. Daughter #3--the baby--turned out to be taller than me, but I'm getting used to it.
