Ewwwww

Amazon introduces a new, cheaper Kindle... with ads.

  1. Glad I already have an ad free Kindle.

  2. Slippery slope. First it's screen savers and, oh, tiny, innocent little banners in your homepage. Next you sliiiiiiiiiide down the chute toward fullscreen ads every other page. Wheeeeeeeee! Splat. But just think of all the extra $ they'll make raising the prices of ad-free Kindles...

  3. I agree. Sounds like a lousy idea to me. But then, I hate ads and will go way out of my way to avoid them. Could be other people don't mind that much. But I suspect they'll mind if the ads become steadily more obtrusive.

  4. Oh, glad I bought my Kindle in January. I'm loving it. I bought the 3G version so I won't be restricted to Wi-Fi.

I still use Eudora for my email, believe it or not. And I could only stand the "sponsored" (ad-infested) version of Eudora for about a day. Then I bought the software that comes without the ads.
