Jet crash

A jet went down in Virginia Beach yesterday, slamming into an apartment building. I grew up in Virginia Beach, and my dad's house is right under Oceana's flight path. F-18s fly low over his house constantly, so on a different day with another wind direction, it could easily have been his neighborhood. It's amazing how few people were injured (though sadly, three people are still unaccounted for) (ETA: They're now reporting that amazingly, there seem to have been no deaths!), mostly thanks to the pilot, who managed to dump his fuel before the plane crashed. I can't imagine how it feels to lose everything in an instant like that, though. My heart goes out to everyone affected.
