Writing and wasting time

I find lots of ways to waste time. This is my latest effort... a blog. I journal about my writing just about every day anyway, so I figure I might as well do it publicly.

I spent all of last week revising the first two hundred pages of NEVER LOVE A STRANGER. This sounds like an impressive quantity of work, but the truth is the big problems with the manuscript are in the last hundred and forty pages. I have a lot of rewriting to do this week as I tackle the last half of the book. To add insult to injury, DH (who serves as my editor/proofreader) spent the weekend reviewing my revisions of the first half, and he left lots and lots of suggestions for improvement. So I still have a lot of work to do on STRANGER. It's supposed to be released in August... I need to get writing!

  1. Hi Ellen! Happy to see that you're blogging now! I can't wait to hear all about what you've got going next. I'm also wondering if your DH hires out. LOL! :)

  2. Hires out? Oh, you mean for proofreading. I thought you meant... Never mind *blushing*.

Seriously, you wouldn't want him... he's a terrible nitpicker!

  4. Thanks, Michelle. It's one of the standard templates, but I'm a sucker for parchment type backgrounds... they appeal to the historical author in me. Never mind that I haven't written a historical in the past year; I still like the ambiance!
