Still here *sigh*

I'm really no further along than I was last week. However, if I don't go into labor by early next week, the doctor plans to induce. I'm looking forward to having this baby... not only do I have all the usual discomforts of late pregnancy, but the baby has taken to developing hiccups in the middle of the night, which invariably wakes me up. It's like having my own personal metronome in my abdomen. Tick... tick... tick...

Last night I noticed that Joy Nash, NCP and EC author, has a book coming from Dorchester this summer. I don't happen to know Ms. Nash, but I'm always delighted to see another e-published author sell to New York-- every sale helps to break down that so-called "stigma" that we can't write well a little more. Off the top of my head, I can think of a pretty long list of e-pubbed authors who've also sold to New York: yours truly, C.J. Barry, Cheyenne McCray, Linnae Sinclair, MaryJanice Davidson, Jaid Black, Joy Nash...

*Grinning evilly* Now what was that "stigma" again?

  1. I received two e-publisher offers in January. When I mentioned them to my agent he almost had a heartattack. He said it's much harder for him to sell a writer to NY when they've been e-pubbed. I'm watching it happen all the time though, so hopefully more NY editors will start seeing e-publication as a positive thing soon.

  2. Interesting... thanks for the feedback. I'd think if you'd been writing ebooks for a while and had developed an audience, you'd have a better chance of selling to NY, not a worse one... but I suppose it may depend on the editor and her views on e-publishing as much as anything. It isn't easy to sell to NY anyway, or to get a good agent:-).

  3. I think it's all perception. If you imagine a boundry, there will be one. I personally prefer to believe that the sky is the limit. :-D
