IN THE MOOD just received its first review... from Mrs. Giggles. This is a scary thought for any romance author, let alone me. Mrs. Giggles has given me a couple of decent reviews, but she doesn't seem to like my romantic comedies much. So I crawled under the desk, clicked on the review, and found...
She gave me an 80!!!
Wow... that's pretty darn good for her. She makes some (fairly) nice comments about it, too, although I really wish she'd quit dissing Brava. Hey, Mrs. G, I'm trying to sell a book to Brava!! Don't make snide remarks about them in my review, please... I can just see Kate Duffy Googling me when she gets my submission, coming across this slightly snide comment about Bad Boys Who Blow, and wondering. It's not me, Ms. Duffy, it's her *pointing accusatory finger toward Mrs. G*. I love Bravas. Really.
Also, this is twice that Mrs. G has referred to one of my novellas as a "short story." I see this quite a lot from other reviewers as well. Anything over 20,000 words is a novella. I think this one ran about 24,000 words, so it's a novella, not a short story.
Anyway... an 80 from Mrs. Giggles is to be cherished. I'm going to go have a celebratory Mountain Dew now.
