I've been working away on my Christmas story this week. I'm up to 6500 words or thereabouts. Well over half of my projected 10,000-word length, except it's naturally going to run a lot longer than 10,000 words. Alas, I can't write a real short story to save my life. I suspect this will be a short novella instead.
I heard back from my NCP editor today, who liked what I've done so far. She wanted to know what title I wanted to settle on, and after some brainstorming I came up with what I (and DH) think is a really good one. I'll share it with you after I hear back from my editor and confirm that she likes it, too.
