Why I'm not doing NaNoWriMo

I already have too much to do. As I mentioned in a previous post, I have a bunch of books to judge for a contest. I also am working on three different novellas, which I understand is against NaNo rules. And every one of these novellas was already started, which is also against the rules. I want to get a couple of novellas done so I can start out 2006 with more regular releases. I'd like to have something out there every two months next year.

Maybe one of these days I'll sit down and try NaNoWriMo, but this just isn't the year:-).

  1. I decided not to do it. Like you, I would've been breaking the rules. I already know I can reach that word count and then some in a month. I've done it, so there's nothing to prove. I like the idea of getting a rough draft down this month, but I don't think I need the NaNo to do that...more like the BISAW. (butt in seat and write;)

  2. I didn't do it for pretty much the same reasons. The projects I'm working on I've already started, plus I'm editing my Samhain release, so I'm either doomed to failure or doomed to cheating.

    Maybe next year. :)
