Snarkiness

I read that the number one reason people visit Alison Kent's blog is for the snarky rants. Emma Gads remarked in her blog that that's the reason most people visit blogs... to read snarky rants. This is quite a depressing thing to learn, as snarky rants are not something I excel at:-(. I'm just not a snarky person. *G* Is snarkiness something you can learn, or do you have to be born with it??

  1. I prefer a blogger to be at its usual self. [Or so I tell myself every time I whined.]

As for your question: IMO, snarkiness is like talent, you either have it or you don't. But it can be borrowed, though.

My mother once said, regarding those times she had to deal with me when I was a "lively" teenager, that she borrowed so heavily that she's still in debt. In fact she said when she'd scuffle off the mortal coil, I'd better pay off her debt by being Miss Nice Girl for the rest of my life because she wouldn't like the idea of still being in debt while she's gardening in Heaven.

What can I say? That's my mum. Bloody daft, she is.

  2. I think there are plenty of snarky rants, political rants, rants, rants, rants. Maybe it's the Season and all, but suddenly "You're a Mean One, Mr. Grinch" was playing in my head. I do read a few snarky ones, but I don't comment on them very often. My favorite blog is Holly Lisle's, and I wouldn't call her snarky.
