I finished If Angels Burn last night. A very good book. Although the spine labels it as "paranormal romance," I'd call it sci-fi romance. Yes, it is a vampire romance, but the vampirism is more rational than supernatural, if that makes sense. (If it doesn't, go read the book and you'll see what I mean:-). There were elements of the book that went slightly outside of the romance genre, as it's traditionally defined, and the book set up its sequel a little more than I'd like. Even so, I rated this book A-, making it one of my three favorite books so far this year (the others are Mouth to Mouth by Erin McCarthy and Ride the Fire by Pamela Clare). And since I don't really like vampire romances, for the most part, this says a lot for the quality of the book!
I'm also reading Metallic Love, Tanith Lee's sequel to The Silver Metal Lover. I love books about robots, as you all know *g*, and I loved The Silver Metal Lover, so I thought I'd give this one a shot.
