Stuff

Today I got my rights back on The First Grader From Outer Space. Because of poor sales, NAD kindly let me have the rights back. I'm not sure what to do with it, so I'm just going to hang onto it for now. Unfortunately, there doesn't seem to be much of a market for kids' ebooks, and it's not easy to break into the kids' paper market. Further muddying the waters is the fact that most agents who handle romance don't handle kids' books. So I'll just shelve this one for the time being.

The baby is showing yet more signs of actual synaptic activity. He understands the sentence, "Can you give me a kiss?" and gleefully makes kissing noises in response. It's weird; a week ago I was certain he didn't understand a thing I said. And now he's responding to two different sentences. A connection must have switched on somewhere in his brain!

I got Rachel Gibson's latest today in Wal-Mart and suddenly remembered that I read her last book while I was in labor with the baby. That's been a while! I love her books and never fail to buy them new.

And finally, I approached another agent with my paranormal project this morning. Keep your fingers crossed for me... I really would like to get an agent this year!
